An effective Accident & Illness Prevention Program (A&IPP) is more than just a document. It serves as the roadmap for your organization's safety efforts by establishing a formalized safety program, outlining responsibilities, and setting measurable safety goals.
The required A&IPP is designed to work hand-in-hand with your Safety Manual. While the A&IPP provides the framework for managing safety throughout the organization, the Safety Manual contains the standard operating procedures and safe work practices to protect employees during higher-risk activities. Together, these documents create a comprehensive safety management system that demonstrates your organization's commitment to employee safety while supporting compliance with Pa. Bureau of Workers’ Compensation 34 PA Code 129.452.
Many members put off developing or updating their A&IPP because they assume it will be a lengthy or difficult process.
